1. Meat Preparation:

Let’s start preparing Slovak Meat Sauté (Mäsové Sauté)!

1.1.

Make sure that the chicken breasts and pork are properly rinsed under cold water and that the unwanted parts are removed.

1.2.

Then, cut them into ¼-inch-thick strips (or any other desired shape) with a sharp knife and place them into a medium mixing bowl.

1.3. Add:

3 TBSP of sunflower oil
2 TBSP of apple cider vinegar
4 cloves of garlic – grated
1 TSP of ground paprika
½ TSP of ground pepper
¾ TSP of salt

Thoroughly stir together with a spatula until fully incorporated (about 1- 2 minutes).

1.4.

Cover with a plate or plastic wrap and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or preferably overnight in the refrigerator).

2. Stir Fry – Part I:

2.1. Preheat stir fry pan on medium-high heat with 3 TBSP of frying oil and add:

½ LB of bacon – diced (optional)

And stir fry for about 2-3 minutes until only partially cooked.

2.2. Then add:

1 red onion – sliced

Stir-fry until glossy and slightly seared, stirring occasionally (about 2 – 3 minutes).

2.3. Then add:

½ LB of mushrooms – sliced (optional)

Stir fry for 1 – 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2.4. Then add:

1 red bell pepper – sliced
1 green bell pepper – sliced
½ TSP of ground pepper
½ TSP of salt

Stir fry for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2.5.

Then, place it into the medium mixing bowl for the later steps.

2.6.

Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.

3. Stir Fry – Part II:

3.1. Preheat stir fry pan on medium-high heat with 3 TBSP of frying oil and add:

Meat from step 1 (including marinade)

Stir fry for until fully cooked, stirring occasionally (for 4 – 7 minutes).

3.2. Then add:

Stir-fried vegetables with optional bacon from step 2 (including liquids if present)

And stir-fry while stirring for 1-2 minutes.

4. Serve Slovak Meat Sauté Mäsové Soté:

4.1.

Serve with the side of potato pancakes or fold it into large potato pancakes. Or serve with rice.

4.2.

Decorate with sour cream and parsley.
