  • 2 TBSP of parmesan cheese - grated (adjust if needed, or 4 TBSP of parmesan shavings ideally freshly shaved))
  • to taste of salt - ideally freshly ground (adjust if needed, to taste )

* I prefer a combination of baby spinach, kale, and iceberg lettuce, but you can’t go wrong with any other kind. Thoroughly clean and tear/chop or buy a ready-to-go bag of your favorite.
** Use the herbs you like or have available. I like an equal combination of basil, oregano, and thyme.

Let’s start the preparation of the Cobb Salad!

1.1.

Cook and peel the hard-boiled eggs (about 10 minutes in boiling water), then cut them into halves (or slice them) and set aside for later steps.

Prepare your chosen dressing if you are making it homemade, or use store-bought.

I love to use eggs for baking and cooking, but I especially love to enjoy their natural taste. In this article, I’m going to share with you a few ways to cook eggs. Note that if you are preparing eggs as a meal (for example, for breakfast), three eggs is considered a full portion.

2. Mix the Salad:

2.1. Place into the large mixing bowl and add:

1 LB of tomatoes – diced
1 yellow pepper – diced
1 cup of peas
6 oz of loose-leaf lettuce mixture
2 oz of arugula
¼ cup of herbs of your choice
1 cup of the dressing you selected

Thoroughly but gently stir together with the spatula.

2.2.

Taste and add salt and/or pepper if needed.

3. Final Preparation Phase of Cobb Salad:

3.1. Transfer the mixed salad to a large platter and top with the following (or make 4 individual portions, each topped with ¼ of these, arranged in neat rows or distinct wedges):

½ LB of ham – sliced
4 hard-boiled eggs – halved
1 cup of crumbled blue cheese
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
2 avocados – sliced
1 cup of green olives
4 servings of croutons

3.2.

Sprinkle with the parmesan and freshly ground salt and pepper, then serve.
