Ingredients:
Cherry Filling:
- 1 cup of sweet cherries - pitted
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- ¼ TSP of vanilla extract
- 1 TBSP of corn flour
- 2 TBSP of water
Cupcakes:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup of cocoa powder
- 1 TSP of baking powder
- ½ TSP of baking soda
- ½ cup of butter - salted (optional)
- 2 eggs
- 1 TSP of vanilla extract
- ½ cup of milk
Frosting:
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2 TBSP of powdered sugar
- chocolate shavings - for garnish
- sweet cherries - for decoration
Tools:
- 1x Measuring Cups
- 1x Measuring Spoons
- 1x Sauce Pan
- 1x Wooden Spoon or High-Temperature Silicone Spatula
- 1x Muffin/Cupcakes Pan
- 1x Cupcake Liners
- 3x Mixing Bowls
- 1x Kitchen Mixer with Whisk Attachment
- 1x Bowl Scraper or Silicone Spatula
- 1x Paring Knife (to create a cavity for the cherry filling)
- 1x Pastry Bag with Pastry tips
- 1x Microplane or Vegetable Peeler (To create chocolate shavings for garnish.)
Directions:
1. Cherry Filling:
Let’s start with the preparation of Black Forest Cupcakes with Cherry Filling!
- In a saucepan, mix the cornflour and water to form a slurry.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and add the cherries, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and the cherries soften.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
2. Make the Batter and Bake the Cupcakes:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

- Beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
